6 ways to froth creamer for the perfect home latte
home lattes have never been easier (or more functional!) with these methods of frothing Picnik Creamer
A generous dollop of velvety frothed creamer instantly heightens your coffee routine from necessity to luxury. Elevate your morning a step further with Picnik Creamer– crafted with healthy fats, grass-fed proteins, and MCT oil in four rich, luxurious varieties, Picnik Creamer can help keep you satiated, focused, and energized!
It's important to carve out meaningful moments in your morning that set you up for an empowered day: we recommend making the bed first thing, moving your body in whatever way serves you, and frothing your creamer into a luxurious home latte. We've tried six frothing solutions, from low-tech to barista-grade gadgets, to take your Picnik Creamer's already rich texture and creamy mouthfeel to a whole new level.
Easy score: ★★★★✰
Making a little you time in the morning only takes one mason jar, 45 seconds, and a little elbow grease. Pour creamer halfway into a mason jar, as you'll want some room for the creamer to expand and foam. Place a lid on tight and give it a solid shake: we found 45 seconds to a minute is the perfect amount of time to create uniform bubbles. Optionally, you can stick the jar in the microwave for another 30 seconds to a minute to stabilize and warm the foam. Spoon the cloudy goodness onto coffee or tea, and enjoy.
Pros: Convenience! Build the entire drink in your cup and drink it from the mason jar. Less dishes = more time to savor your morning.
Cons: Added spices don't emulsify as easily as with an electric blender. We also recommend this method for iced drinks only, as mason jars are not insulated and can get very hot to the touch!

If you haven't used your french press to foam your creamer, we're about to blow your mind. Fill the french press with gently warmed creamer, about 1/4th of the way full. Replace the cover and pump up and down for about 30 seconds, checking the consistency of the foam as needed. The creamer will expand to nearly double the size, with divinely silky microbubbles throughout.
Pros: The humble French press has more than just one application in the kitchen, and takes you from brewing to frothing in a snap!
Cons: Cleaning the intricate components of your French press, on the other hand, is a little more time consuming than the rest of our methods.
HANDHELD FROTH WAND
Easy score: ★★★★★
We love these little guys: inexpensive, and they get the job done! Just insert the wand into your Picnik Creamer, press the button, and move the wand up and down to incorporate air into the creamer. Frothing can take up to three minutes to achieve maximum foam, but the result is a dense, beautifully airy mouthfeel that'll transport you to your favorite cafe.
Pros: The handheld froth wand is the perfect pocket tool for on-the-go frothing. Take it anywhere- even camping!- as it doesn't require electricity.
Cons: Unfortunately this little gadget doesn't heat the creamer, unlike the steam wand or electric frother. If you prefer hot foam, you'll need to heat the creamer up beforehand.

Similar to the handheld frothing wand, blend warm creamer in an up and down motion, starting on low speed. We love immersion blenders because they make frothy lattes in one step: blend the coffee and creamer together with your sweetener of choice for an instantly elevated cup of coffee. While the foam is denser and the bubbles larger with this method, the speed, efficiency, and quick cleanup makes this a winner in our book.
Pros: Immersion blenders are must-have kitchen tools that can emulsify soups, smoothies, or batters as well as frothing creamer for an at-home latte. Differing speeds mean you can blend slower if your cup is more full, or faster if you're in a hurry.
Cons: Use a deep cup for this method, as immersion blenders can make a mess if you're not careful!
ELECTRONIC MILK FROTHER
Easy score: ★★★★★
We recently found out about this electronic milk frother, and we're obsessed. This is our ultimate set-it-and-forget-it, when you just don't have time for anything but pressing a button (hello, Mondays). Install the frothing whisk onto the bottom of the pitcher and add creamer no higher than the max frothing level on the side of the basin. From there, press the power button to start frothing! One press = hot, dense foam. Two presses = hot, fluffy foam. Four presses = frothing cold foam for iced drinks.
Pros: This specialized tool is great for any type or temperature of foam you're looking for, whether you're whipping up a cold foam cold-brew cocktail or a hot latte! The condensed size stores super easily in a drawer, and the frothing basin even detaches from the base for simple pouring.
Cons: It's a little pricey, but the incredible foam, ease of use, and compact size make this tool a winner.

A coffee shop classic: frothing creamer on a steam wand allows you to reach peak levels of luxurious foam. We find that Picnik Creamer froths best with a teaspoon of sugar added to stabilize the proteins. Pour creamer into a metal frothing pitcher, insert the wand just below the surface of the creamer, and turn on the steam, keeping the wand stable and still. You should see a vortex in the pitcher, which is adding air into the creamer. After about a second or two, gently move the wand deeper, breaking up large bubbles (this is called "stretching" the creamer). Give the basin a few hearty taps on the counter to smooth everything out, and pour. Depending on the power of your steam wand, you may need to experiment with this method to get the perfect head of foam.
Pros: The steam wand is simply the best way to create cloud-like micro bubbles and a thick head of foam.
Cons: Not everyone can afford to have a legit steam wand in their kitchen, and it requires a little bit of trial and error before you can become the perfect home barista. Stretching milk is tricky- too much or too little time under the steam wand can make thin foam or large bubbles!
Whether layered on top of earthy matcha or rich espresso, frothed Picnik Creamer adds a touch of extravagance to whatever you're pairing it with. Making time for moments of bliss in your morning is essential in a productive, balanced, and healthy rest of your day. A homemade Picnik Latte does more than save you $5 at your local cafe - it also creates space for a little morning meditation. You deserve this.
